‎NWFL Super Six: Edo Queens Defeat Robo Queens 4-1 In Away Match

‎Edo Queens's quest for another Nigeria Women Football League premiership title received a boost yesterday at the ongoing season ending Super Six tournament in Port Harcourt with a comfortable 4-1 thrashing of Robo Queens FC of Lagos.
‎The former league champions' 4-1 thrashing of Robo Queens at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Matchday Two of the 2026 NWFL Premiership Super 6 tournament was a superb comeback response to their 1-0 shocking defeat to Nasarawa Amazon in the opening match of the competition on Saturday.
‎Esther Moses opened scoring for the thirsty  Edo Queens as early as 15 minutes into the matchday two encounter and doubled the lead in the 32nd minute to have a brace before halftime whistle.
‎Edo Queens came back for the remaining half with more confidence and determination as they continued to dictate the pace which paid off in the 60th minute with a superb strike by Precious Oscar to make it 3-0 for the Benin based team. Their fourth goal was slotted in by Mary Mamudu in the 64th minute to redeem themselves.
‎FC Robo Queens however fought hard to get a consolation in the 86th minute of play with Nkeocha Favour's strike.
‎Edo Queens are paired against giant killers Abia Angels in the next fixture, scheduled to hold on Wednesday. kickoff time is 9.00 AM. Abia Angels shocked former champions and host team Rivers Angels by a lone goal in their second match. They recorded a 1-1 draw with another former champions Bayelsa Queens in their match day one encounter on Saturday.
‎Edo Queens must  be at their best and mentally ready in order to get total victory over Abia Angels in the match day three to remain in contention for the title.
‎The 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six got underway in Port Harcourt on Saturday with an action-packed Matchday One that produced thrilling contests, crucial victories and an early upset in the race for the league title.
