Host Communities Call On EFCC Probe Of N1.3 Trillion 13% Oil Derivation Funds By Editor Host communities in Delta State are demanding urgent action from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the alleged mismanagement of N1.3 trillion in 13% oil derivation funds meant for community development. The call was led by Comrade Sheriff Mulade, a prominent environmental rights activist and Chairman of the Association of Host Communities of Nigeria (HOSTCOM), Delta State chapter. EFCC Arraigns Two Chinese Nationals For Illegal Export Of Mineral Resources In Lagos By Editor  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned two Chinese nationals, Zhang Hong Lin and Zhao Pei Hai, before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on charges bordering on illegal possession and unlawful exportation of mineral resources. According to an official signed statement by the Commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the suspects were brought before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of the Lagos Division on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the EFCC. The defendants were docked on a five-count charge involving conspiracy and the illegal exportation of critical mineral resources including mica products, copper-bearing and lithium-bearing materials, without authorisation from the appropriate authorities. The suspect was apprehended for obtaining the sum of ₦2,000,000.00 (Two Million Naira) under false pretence from a petitioner whom he reportedly threatened, promising to kill the investigation in exchange for financial inducement. Edo Chief Judge Sets Free Two Inmates From Oko Correctional Centre Iduozee Efe Paul  Edo State Chief Judge, Justice Daniel Okungbowa has freed two inmates from the Oko Correctional Centre in the state. The two inmates freed are; Shaibu Adams and Musa Ibrahim. According to NAN, Adams, a 27-year-old from Akwa Ibom, was charged with alleged kidnapping and remanded on July 3, 2023. More so, he spent one year, 10 months, and 10 days without being taken to court after his remand order. The police charged Adams with alleged kidnapping, while the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the state charged him with alleged stealing of a cell phone. Adams told the Administration of Criminal Justice Ministry Monitoring Committee (ACJMC) that he was arrested on his way back from work.
