‎2025: Team Edo Aheads As Enabulele Dedicates Weightlifting Victory To Gov. Okpebholo

‎Team Edo has continued with their outstanding performances at the ongoing 9th National Youth games in Asaba as it leads the medal table comfortably with 19 Gold,5 silver and 3 bronze, totalling 27 medals.
‎Team Edo initially led by 17 Gold,5 silver and 3 Bronze medals in the official medals table released on Monday morning but the heartbeat state advanced their course before the end of the day with one Gold medal each in Rugby (female) and Cricket (male).
‎Lagos state is placed 2nd with 9 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze to have a total of 18 white Akwa ibom seats at the 3rd position with 5 gold,0 silver and 1 bronze, totalling 6 medals.
‎Delta and Niger states maintain a distant 4th and 5th positions with 2 gold,2 silver 9 bronze , totalling 13 and 1 gold,2 silver and 0 bronze respectively.
‎Rivers are last on the log with just one bronze medal .
‎Meanwhile,the Executive Chairman, Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has ascribed the massive achievement of team Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo.
‎Enabulele,while congratulating team Edo for their resounding victory in weightlifting at the ongoing 9th National Youth Games,dedicated the historic feat to  the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
‎Team Edo emerged overall champions in weightlifting event after securing a commanding 9 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals to finish as overall champions  ahead of Akwa Ibom, Abia, and others.
‎ This dominance, especially the clean sweep of all nine gold medals in the women’s weightlifting category underscores Edo’s unmatched strength in  the sport.
‎The Executive Chairman, Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Enabulele described the achievement as a direct reflection of Governor Okpebholo’s renewed commitment to youth and sports development in Edo State.
‎He maintained that the grassroots sports development policy in the Edo State Sports Commission,no doubt is yielding it's desired results 
‎"This triumph is the fruit of purposeful leadership. His Excellency has created the enabling environment the inspires our athletes and administrators to strive for  success. Today, our weightlifters have only validated the Governor’s dream of making Edo the true heartbeat of Nigerian sports.” He remarked
‎“Governor Okpebholo is a leader who does not only dream but also acts. His passion for the youth and his faith in the capacity of Edo athletes to excel is commendable. This victory is his legacy, and we dedicate it to him with pride and gratitude,” he added.
‎Edo contingent has remained dominant in their performances, beginning from Favour Cornelius' 3 Gold medals in the (44kg);Esther Amarachi Chijoke (48kg), and Beauty Akpore (53kg), 3 Gold each  to complete the historic medal sweep in the weightlifting events.
‎ Enabulele stressed that such superlative performances were only possible  because Governor Okpebholo placed high premium on grassroots sports development .
‎He assured that the Edo State Sports Commission will continue to sustain its drive for talents discovery  across the state and grooming them into champions.
‎“The future is bright because the Governor has given us a roadmap and the courage to dream big. Edo sports is on a new trajectory of greatness,” He noted.
