AMP Inducts Dr. Okundaye As Patron Of The Association In Edo

As film industry takes a modern view format, the Association of Movie Producers, Edo state chapter has invested and inducted Dr. Kingsley Oghogho Okundaye as their patron.
Stating the essence of the occasion, the Chairman, Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Edo state Chapter, Derek Osaro Igbinakenzua, posited that the event is seen as a collective force to shaping the future of Nollywood.
Igbinakenzua added that, their work as filmmakers and storytellers, they are custodian of culture, history, and dream.
"Today is more than just an event; it is a milestone. It is a celebration of vision, resilience, and unity. We stand together, not merely as individuals, but as a collective force shaping the future of Nollywood, particularly here in Edo State.
"As filmmakers and storytellers, we are custodians of culture, history, and dreams. Through our work, we preserve the past, interpret the present, and inspire the future. And today, by inducting new members into our fold and welcoming distinguished patrons, we strengthen our foundation and widen our horizon.
"To our new members — this is the beginning of a journey. A journey of collaboration, creativity, and contribution. We welcome you warmly into this noble family.
"To our patrons — your acceptance to walk with us is a great honor. Your wisdom, influence, and guidance will serve as pillars as we grow stronger and reach higher.
I must also appreciate every member of this great association for your dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering support. Without you, this day would not have been possible.
"Let me conclude by saying this: today we plant a seed of greatness. Tomorrow, we will harvest the fruits of our collective labour. Nollywood in Edo State is rising, and together, we will make it a shining light for Nigeria and Africa at large," he assured.
Given his acceptance speech after his investiture as a member of the body, Dr. Kingsley Oghogho Okundaye said as Patron that he is committed to lending his voice, resources, and energy to initiative that empower producers to elevate the quality of their storytelling.
He said,"I accept with immense gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility, my investiture as a Patron of the Association of Movie Producers, Edo State Chapter.
"This recognition is not merely a personal accolade; it is a call to greater service, and I receive it with a heart full of thanks. I wish to specially acknowledge the Association for its pivotal role in preserving our rich traditions and its profound impact on our socio-cultural lives.
"Through the powerful medium of film, you do not just tell stories; you archive our heritage, shape our identity, challenge societal norms, and even influence our political discourse. You are the custodians of our collective memory and the architects of-our future narratives.
"This investiture resonates deeply with my personal life’s mission. For years, l have been passionately committed to promoting the diverse and vibrant traditions and cultures that make Nigeria a tapestry of unparalleled beauty.
"I believe that, in understanding and celebrating our unique cultures, we find the true strength of our national unity.A single film can challenge a deep-seated prejudice, inspire a generation, revive a dying language, and showcase the beauty of our traditions to the world. I stand before you today to promise my unwavering support.
"As your Patron, I am committed to lending my voice, my resources, and my energy to initiatives that empower producers, elevate the quality of our storytelling, and ensure that Edo State continues to be a powerhouse of authentic and impactful cinema.
"Together, let us continue to tell the stories that need to be told. Let us use the lens of our cameras to project the best of whom we are and who we can be," he stressed.
In his remarks, Chairman of the event, Mr. Omoruyi Akpata, CEO of Lushville Hotels & Suites, urged the Benin producers, members and executive of AMP to think outside the box to enable them encounter the plights they are facing.
Akpata extolled the investiture and inductees for being a member and patrons of the association. He thanked Dr. Okundaye for accepting to be a patron of the body.
Also, ex-chairman of AMP in Edo state, Henry Iyobosa Legema lamented that the Benin people don't help them whenever they want to shot a movie and added that film making is a business, that the Benin people must come together to support their own.
In her joyous speech, Dr. (Mrs.) Folashade Jayeoba Okundaye, said she very happy that Edo state AMP made her husband a patron. She said as far that AMP is trying to expose the Benin culture to the world that she is please and interested.
She explained that, her husband passion is to promote the Benin culture and said with her husband involvement things that would bring Edo culture to the world will be more showcase.
