‎NPFL26: Insurance Coach, Boboye Rues Missed Chances

... As  Bendel Insurance Records Another Stalemate In Benin
‎Despite their dominant play against former champions Rivers United in the rescheduled Match Day 9 encounter of the Nigeria Premier Football League, Bendel Insurance Football Club could not find the back of the net and get the maximum points they yearn for as the visitors enjoyed settling for the barren draw in Benin.
‎Insurance came close to breaking the deadlock in the 21 minute when a well coordinated cross from the left flank was headed in but woodwork denied Alex Oweilsyefa the goal before Isaac Omijie's 44 minute strike dragged
‎Rivers United’s goalkeeper Osagie Onisoduneya out of his position but was side netted.
‎The visitors on the other hand remained cautious and defensive tactically in neutralizing Insurance offensives.
‎Meanwhile,Technical Manager of Bendel Insurance Football Club  Kennedy Boboye has admitted that his players performed below par and were not convincing  enough in the attack during the rescheduled Match Day 9 encounter with Rivers United which ended in a barren draw on Thursday, November 6,2025 in Benin.
‎Coach Boboye who could not hide his disappointment in the manner  the Benin Arsenals strikers wasted the few vital scoring chances they had, said that it was painful to labour for 90 minutes and missed all scoring chances to allow visiting teams to run away with a point.
‎He however expressed optimism about possible turnaround before mid season transfer window where the opportunity is given to fortify the team.
‎Coach Boboye was speaking during the post match media conference after the goalless draw against Rivers United at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City.
‎He said that he is really disturbed that his team has not been able to put smiles on the faces of the fans and supporters of the club since his arrival and appealed for more patience and continued support.
‎“ We missed some chances, in the first half”. “If you come in when the team is under pressure and you don’t have a big heart, it will swallow you. I’m sorry to say this, the club is too big for some of the players . That is just the truth. We can’t do much until mid season, but we’ll keep pushing and work on our strikers. We might be lucky to even get maximum points away from home." He said.
‎The barren draws with Rivers United made it Bendel Insurance  three consecutive draws since Boboye took charge of the Benin Arsenals technical crew leadership. Insurance has only managed to get one home victory which was against Niger Tornadoes.
‎ The Benin Arsenal have played 11 league matches so far with (1 win, 6 draws, 4 losses) to remain at the bottom of the league table.
‎Bendel Insurance will be traveling to Jos to face Plateau United in the match day 12 fixture scheduled for Monday, November 10,2025. Kick off time is 4pm.
