Born into the Alenkhe family of Okhuesan Community, Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria, his journey into prominence began as a young boy at Arinze Primary School and Niger College in Benin City.
He later moved to Utoka Grammar School, Ovia North-East Local Government Area, where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WAEC). He also attended the College of Education, Ekiadolor, where he studied English/Linguistics and earned his National Certificate in Education (NCE).
Festus Alenkhe holds a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the New York Film Academy and attended the University of Benin, earning a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Diplomacy. He also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ), affiliated with the University of Maiduguri.
He holds certificates in Paediatric Art from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Radio/TV news reporting from the U.S. Consulate General in Nigeria, and an Executive Masterclass from the London Centre for Training and Development. He serves as Africa Ambassador of the World Safety Organisation (WSO) and is a Fellow of the Global Safety Institute (FGSI). His trophy shelf is adorned with numerous awards from within and outside Nigeria.
A widely travelled journalist, Comrade Festus Alenkhe is also a Jerusalem Pilgrim, having visited Rome, Israel, Jericho, Greece, Bethlehem, Jordan, and Egypt. He is a Peace Ambassador through the Universal Peace Federation and a Global Diplomat accredited by the International Association of World Peace Advocates through the United Nations ECOSOC, where he also received an Eminent Peace Award (UN-V/WEB/5862/2025).
His media career, which has benefited Nigerian society both locally and in the diaspora through key programmes such as Crime Watch and Crime Alert (now Security Watch and Security Alert), has spanned over two decades. Festus Alenkhe has conducted investigative visits to Austria, Italy, Spain, France, the UK, UAE, and the USA, including a special report on the assassination of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas.
A passionate resource person, he engages youths toward fostering a crime-free Nigeria where peace, security, justice, progress, and development prevail.
Festus Alenkhe has held leadership roles including Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Edo State Chapter (2001–2004), Chairman of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Edo State Branch (2015–2023), Chairman of the Students Representative Council, and Speaker of the Student Union Government at the College of Education, Ekiadolor. He is a Chief of the Kegites Club International, a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and the Benin Recreation Club (1933). He also served as Vice Chairman of the Edo State Agency for the Prevention of HIV/AIDS and, during the COVID-19 pandemic, was a member of the Risk Pillar of Edo State’s prevention team.
Through tireless efforts, Comrade Festus Alenkhe has garnered numerous accolades and recognition at home and abroad. His work has illuminated the darkest corners of society, empowering the voiceless and challenging the status quo.

An unassuming journalist and sports enthusiast, he supports Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin and is the author of Crime Watch: A Security Mirror of the Nigerian Society. As Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, he has driven numerous developments including fencing the union secretariat, installing 24-hour CCTV, providing uninterrupted internet, and ensuring continuous maintenance. In August 2025, he personally built and donated an ultra-modern gate and signpost for the Press Centre in Benin City, commissioned by Comrade Mrs Abimbola Oyetunde and Comrade Goddy Erhahon.
Festus Alenkhe was honoured with an honorary doctoral award by the London Centre for Training and Development in Lewisham, London, UK, on 3 October 2024. A member of the SLEAMP 13 Course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru Jos (March 2025), he represented Nigeria at the UN Summit on Social Development in Doha, Qatar (November 2025).
Festus Alenkhe continues to serve as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo State Council, and Assistant General Manager, News, Radio/TV, Edo Broadcasting Service. He has an established family and remains a figure of impeccable character whose wealth of experience knows no bounds.
