SABOGIDDA-ORA : The ward executives of All Progressive Congress in Owan West have rejected the third bid of Speaker Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku
The ward executives members from ward 1-11 of the party rejected the term bid in a meeting held at Chief Lucky Ohimai’s residence in Sabogidda Ora,Owan West LGA
The speaker , Hon Blessing Agbebaku earlier before the enlarge meeting of the ward executives made peace with the leaders and members of All Progressive Congress where he apologized to the leaders , executives and members of the party as well as recognized the leadership of High Chief Lucky Ohimai (Tarex)
This meeting and recognition by the Speaker have finally put to rest the strained relations among key party leaders
Speaking at the meeting, Rt Hon Blessing Agbebaku said he was at the residence to align and harmonize with APC family, ably led by High Chief Lucky Ohimai (Tarex), whom he said, he had never doubted his leadership adding that “I have never, and will not dispute his party leadership in Owan West.”
The Speaker admitted that past misunderstandings, often fueled by overzealous and unidentified supporters, had caused divisions. He offered an open apology and pledged full cooperation.
“I am here to say whoever I wronged in the past, whether knowingly or unknowingly, I deeply apologize. I remain committed to working for the progress of our party, the APC, and the people.”
Agbebaku also clarified his stance on the party’s leadership structure in the LGA, noting that he was never in contention with High Chief Tarex. He recalled paying glowing tribute to Tarex during his own declaration, and reaffirmed his readiness to work alongside him “to ensure things work together.”
He announced his intention to seek re-election to the State Assembly, appealing to party leaders for collective support.
“I want my brother, Tarex, to also know that I am in the race for re-election. I appeal to you all that we need to use this opportunity judiciously for the benefit of everybody.”
Chairman of Owan West LGA, Hon. Joy Ohonyon other leaders of the party which include, Hon Johnson Abolagba , Hon Joe Ekpekhio ,
, Barr Stanley Amu, others welcomed the peace initiative, saying, “High Chief Tarex has given much to the local government as well as the state and urged both numbers and executives to embrace peace for the sake of the party and development of Owan West Local Government area
Hon. Ojo Asein, former Assembly member described the reconciliation as a welcome development noting that the issue has dragged for so long, and that his name has always been on the forefront, he thanked God that he is alive to see this day.
“Blessing Agbebaku and I are from Uhonmora. We are brothers. I can’t pull him down.”
He emphasized that “without forgiveness, there can’t be peace,” and urged all to embrace a genuine path to reconciliation”.he added
He also advised those with the attitude of pull down syndrome should to refrain from it so that there will be peace that will bring about meaningful development in the local government, he assured that under the leadership of High Chief Lucky Ohimai (Tarex), APC remains intact
Mr. Raymond Osumah, Chairman of Ward Chairmen, and Mr. Azale Monday, leader of Ward 7, both stressed that the party must now function as “one family.”
Hon. Frank David , the local government party leader appealed to members to forgive and forget adding that , “To err is human, to forgive is divine. The glory must return to Owan West.”
