...Says He Has Something To Campaign With

Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin

House of Representatives hopeful candidate for Oredo Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Paddy Iyamu has spoken about the success he recorded when he was the commissioner for education.

Iyamu made the statements while fielding questions from Journalists at his campaign office, after the primary elections that led to his emergence as the candidate of House of Representatives to represent Oredo, Benin City, Edo state.

He promised to extend hands of friendship with those who contested with him and described APC as one big family.

Iyamu said that if it has gone the other way for him, he would have taking it in good faith, and work with the winner because the party is supreme.

"The APC, we are one family. So it's not a problem. We have a collective vision as a party.

"And there's no victor, there's no vanquish. We are all winners. In a contest, one person must emerge.

"It doesn't mean that the others are losers. So all of us are going to go back into our various wards and unite.

"Don't mention we govern nice for the party because the party is supreme over anybody's personal ambition. If any other person emerged, I would have worked with him. I can't walk away from the party.

"I can't walk away from our collective interest because the governor is working and we must support him as a people", Iyamu said.

The immediate past commissioner for education in the state, when asked how is going to work to emerge victorious at the poll, noted that the records of how he was able to save parents from unnecessary burden speaks volumes for itself.

"For me, personally, as the candidate and as commissioner of education, I have been able to do quite a lot for our people.

"We renovated over 100 schools.
The bursary was during my time as commissioner. We opened the doors of China for our students. We have over 5 of our students now studying.

"We opened the doors of Turkey for our students. We have 10 of them.

"We have over 800 of our students that went into partnership with Google International that are presently being trained.

"So the list is endless. We have a lot of things to campaign with. And the people have seen.

"And they have seen our capacity and capabilities. As commissioner, the governor got his first award as best governor of the year in education.

"And the people know that when he got that award, Paddy Iyamu was the commissioner for education.

"Even NECO just gave him an award now because of the landslide and the remarkable achievements we made while in office. So the people are happy.

"They know that even with the policies that we made, where we eradicated the unnecessary partying in schools to help the common man in society.

"We also removed the bottleneck where you say you cannot reuse textbooks. When you have five children, you must be buying textbooks for all of them.

"Even if their elderly ones just finished from the class. We removed all those bottlenecks. So the parents are happy.

"The people of Edo state are happy.
The teachers that we didn't have in all the schools, we employed over 6,000 teachers.

"So we have a lot of things. So many things to campaign with. And the opposition cannot come close when it comes to performance and indices", Iyamu said

He equally promised his supporters that change  has come that it is time for him to focus more on the humanitarian work that he had been doing for his people.

Paddy Iyamu said if he actually emerge as the policymaker to represent Oredo, that is an opportunity for him to help and empower more youths and women

He said because his broad reach, he will also attract meaningful development, skills acquisition for his people.
