‎NPFL 2026:  Bendel Insurance FC Fefeat Katsina United 1-0 In Benin

‎Bendel Insurance Football Club, Monday morning defeated Katsina United 1-0 in the match day 36 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)and climbed to 4th on the league table.
‎
‎Alex Oweifaleya scored the only goal of the match in the 87th minute with a classy header. The young striker is Bendel Insurance highest goal scorer now with 9 goals,one ahead of their main striker Kayode Oke.
‎
‎The match day 36 played at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium which was postponed after 62 minutes of action on Sunday evening due to heavy downpour was concluded on Monday morning with Alex Oweifaleya scoring the only goal of the match in the 87th minute.
‎
‎The decisive moment came after much pressure on the visitors when Emmanuel Akpan delivered a fine corner kick which connected well positioned Alex Oweifaleya who calmly delivered a classy header to break the deadlock for Bendel Insurance FC.
‎
‎Katsina United who showed strong character in the encounter had their team reduced to 10 men after their midfielder  Richard Christopher sent off for misconduct in the 74th minute of the game after picking second yellow card in the tension soaked match.

‎Recall that Bendel Insurance also. defeated katsina United 1-0 in their first round meeting in Ilorin.

‎The Benin Arsenals who have moved up on the ladder after the match day 36 victory over Katsina Utd with 55 points  now have the table toppers  Rangers International of Enugu to contend with in the  next fixture on Sunday,May 10,2026. kickoff time is 4PM at the Cathedral .

Gunmen Abducts 18 Passengers  In Benin-Auchi Highway, 16 Rescued Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin  Wonder they say shall not cease, as at least 18 passengers travelling on the Benin-Auchi highway in Edo State were abducted by gunmen on Friday, 5th 2025. The victims were said to be heading to Abuja in a newly launched Edo Line bus when armed men stopped the vehicle and forced them into the bush. Police operatives later arrived at the scene after the attack. A video from the incident, which has gone viral on social media, showed vehicles lined up on both sides of the highway as panic spread among commuters.
