NAS Donates Educational Materials To Owegie Pri School   … Urges School Authority To Make Judicious Use Of Items The National Association of Seadogs (NAS) (a.k.a. “Pyrate Confraternity), Benbow Deck, in conjunction with Blizzard Deck has donated educational materials to Owegie Primary School, Orior in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State. The materials include 300 Exercise Books, 100 Mathematical Set and 5 Marker writing boards. The materials were received by the Secretary of Uhunmwode local government council, Mr. Lucky Oseye, assisted by the Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Martina Areghan. The Cap'n of Benbow Deck, Dr. Chris Ekiyor said the donation was part of the association’s efforts to complement government efforts with the aim of enhancing education in the local government area and the society generally He said the gesture was also part of the association's agenda to support the less privileged and contribute in making a meaningful society. World NTDs Day: PPSN, NYSC Call On  NUJ's Partnership To Curb Spread Of NTDs Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin The Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria (PPSN) Edo State chapter, in collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) MHS Community Development Service (CDS) group, Egor Local Government, has called on the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council to join in the fight of eradicating Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) in Nigeria. The state coordinator of PPSN, Nosa Ogboghodo, made the statements during a courtesy call on the leadership of the NUJ in Benin to commemorate the World NTDs Day. Ogboghodo's appeal to NUJ has become so imperative due to the critical nature of the disease which has the ability of doing more harm to the people. The man identified as Martins Uwaifo was said to have been intercepted by operatives of the anti-cultism unit of the Nigerian Police while conducting a stop and search duty along Okabere Street in the Upper Sakpoba axis in his unregistered Lexus jeep with No Rx350. Addressing journalists during the parade of 40 suspects in its custody at the Edo State Police headquarters, the image-maker, Chidi Nwabuzor, a Superintendent of Police, said the suspect also confessed to belonging to the Supreme Vikings Confraternity. Edo 2024: APC Insists  No Aspirant Has Been Disqualify  Iduozee Paul, Benin The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has said that no aspirants has been screened or disqualified from the governorship race, scheduled to hold September 21, 2024.  It will be recalled that a six-man committee led by the House of Representative member (Owan Federal Constituency, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere was set up last monday to look into ways to prune the number of aspirants from 29 to a 'manageable number.'  After the committee met with the aspirants, a report emerged that the committee had screened and reduced the number to six. However, an unconfirmed list of was posted by the Channels Television, a development that has caused rancour in the party. The association under the leadership of Comrade Aisha Bura deemed it nice to set up committees in order to encourage smooth flows of the association nationwide. The association set up three standard working committees which includes National Conference Committee, Disciplinary Committee and Education/Training Committee.
