Given the directive, the Chairman of the Edo State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Adjoto Kabiru,  made the statements  in a press conference  in Benin city, said the essence is to transform the 18 local government areas in the state. Hon. Kabiru said the move was to revamp the local government administration in the state. Okpebholo Announces Plans To Regulate The Activities Of  Scavengers In Edo Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin   Edo State, Governor Monday Okpebholo has announced plans to regulate the activities of scavengers and scrap dealers across the state. Governor Okpebholo disclosed this on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the new Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Akintayo Saidi Ayinla, at the Government House in Benin, the State capital. The Governor pledged full government support to the NSCDC in tackling the growing menace of vandalism often linked to scavenging and scrap trading. Absence Of Defendants Stalls Trial In Alleged Suicide Aiding Case In Benin By Editor  The trial in the case involving the alleged aiding of the suicide of Mrs. Lilian Omokhuale, daughter of Mr. Omoruyi Oloton, Chief Executive Officer of Uyi Technical Limited, was on Tuesday stalled at the Federal High Court, Benin City, in suit No. FHC/B/5C/2024. The presiding judge, Justice B. O. Quadri, observed that the absence of the defendants — Jessica Oghomwen Iguodala, Akpes Omorodion, and Esther Eguomo Oisamoje, contravened the rule that all defendants must be present during proceedings.
