Azemhe Azena Tasks Party Leaders, Electorates To Shun Money Politics

A leading governorship aspirant in the Labour Party (LP), in Edo state, Pastor (Dr.) Azemhe Azena has said the type of leaders Edo state need now is not a leader that will be imported from other state or outside the State, but a leader that live amongs the people.

Dr. Azemhe Azena made the statement at a Mega Summit Rally tagged:" The Azemhe Mega Summit: Setting An Agenda For A  Better Edo State,"  organized by Two House Charity Foundation  held at Baptist Convention Ground, where the Two House Charity Foundation bestowed on him an Achiever’s Award for his profound contribution on the advancement of Humanity, Benin city, Edo state.

The entrepreneur stated that, the ideology of any geniune  political parties must be spelt out and must be follow step by step to deliver the dividends of democracy to the Edo people. 

Dr. Azemhe Azena, a philanthropist and cum educationist advised that we should shun money buying politics and stop compromising our future and posited that if we must have a good society our political parties must be refine and redefine.

He said," underrating the process of any leader emerging  from any political platform can never give us a better society we are clamouring for.  Such power to get the best leaders to rule the state is vested on the people.

" Secondly , I would also talk to the political parties. They are the mother that gave birth to governors, House of Assembly members, House of Representatives,  Senators, the President and the local government chairmen.

" You cannot be a wizard and expect to give birth to a saint, you cannot be a wicked person and you want to deliver a righteous person. So if we must have a good society. The political parties must be refine and redefine.

" The ideology of the political parties must be spelt out and must be follow step by step. We should shun from money buying politics and stop compromising our future. And we should shun ethnicity politics and look at the personality of an individual clamouring and agitating for a certain positions.

" I want to say that a tree cannot make a forest. There is no way government alone can give us a better society. The contributions from various individuals from the society, religious leaders, organisations, government and non government parastatals, agencies, traditional rulers and many others.

" We just need to come together to do one thing and to stand for the truth. And present the right  person to the society that will be the arrow head to pilot the affairs of the society. Everyone cannot be in the government house. But there is one person that can collectively elected to represent the interest of the society," Dr. Azemhe stressed.

Speaking on how a better Edo State can be realistic, Dr. Azemhe Azena said," we should not give up on Edo state, and Nigeria in general . A better Edo state is possible, if we all can come together. Sit down and discuss the way forward just as we have done today.

" Then, take a step forward by implementing what we have done here today, by getting ahead of us by electing the right persons that would spearhead the Edo State 2024, then we can get a better Edo state.

" Running out of Edo state or traveling out of Nigeria is not the way out to develop our State and Nigeria. But staying in Edo state, by putting heads together to brainstorm the way forward is the right solution to grow, that is how we can get a better Edo state.

" I believed strongly that we can get a better Edo state of our dream. And I will never give up untill we get a better Edo state of our dream. That is why I am proud to say that I am an Edo state indigene. I married an Edo woman, my children are citizen here, and they reside in this State.

" My businesses and investments are in Edo state. I acquired all my school certificates in Edo state. And I am proud to be in Edo state. 

Emphasizing the essence why the best leader

to lead Edo state must come from the people, Dr. Azemhe stressed:" the best leader that can serve the people well is a leader that  comes among the people. Let not debate about the issue. Let not import leaders on our people. Let not import leaders from outside the State to come and rule us.

" Let allow the people to have their way to select the choice of the  leaders they want. Abraham Lincoln defined 'democracy as government of the People, for the People and by the People' . Look at the common word in that definition, the People . So, the government that would favour the people. He  must be from the People, must be elected by the People, and know the problems of the People and live within the people .

" He/She should not live in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, New York,  and live in UK, but should live in Edo state and that is what I believed. This project is very clear. A better Edo state is possible. We are clamouring for a better Edo state of our dream. And a better Edo state we are going to be proud of to leave for our children and children unborn," he stated .

Chairman CRPP Edo state, Comrade (Dr.) Samson Isibor, described Dr. Azemhe Azena as a very going easy man and a great philantroplist who give to the poor and the needy.

Comrade Samson Isibor said it is because of the large heart that Dr. Azemhe Azena has that make his association to honour him recently in Edo state.

He said", Dr. Azemhe is a grassroots man, very easy going person and a great philantroplist. We need somebody like Dr. Azemhe to come and lead us. The current governor we have in Edo state did not care about us. This problems we are passing through is not what we bargin for during campaigns.

" The governor we have now you can access him.

As one of the political stakeholders in Edo state I need to let people know that Dr. Azemhe Azena will be a better candidate for 2024.He had suffered and came from the grassroot, people like this who the pains of the people that  we need now. Dr.lsibor added.

The  Labor Party LGA Chairman for Ikpoba Okha , Comrade Scott Jeff thanked the organizers of The Azemhe Project. He said they are here to support Dr. Azemhe Azena. 

" Dr. Azemhe had been a friend and brother. I called him my in-law because he was the one that mentored the wife I married. I known him years ago. Dr. Azemhe Azena is a man from the street and we need somebody like him in politics. We are proud of him. 

Looking at such mega project like this that bring everyone together to talk about the prospect and development of Edo state is wonderful one.

" For us in Edo state this is the first time for an aspirant to bring us together and give us a blueprint on how to move Edo state forward and run the state. We give him praise for that. I wish him well in the governorship race," he added.

The Mega Summit rally for Dr. Azemhe Azena also witnessed some panelists who spoke on the need to revamp and transform our education, agriculture, entertainment and security sectors.

Commenting, the  Zone 5 Police Public Relation Officer , Tijani Momoh  dwell on challenges in the security sector. He noted that to have a functional and effective Policing, adequate Man Power must be provided with communication gadgets , along with operational vehicles and speed boats for easy movement both in upland and interland

On the area of Education, Mr. Nazereth Chukwuemeka, decried the decay in Educational  System and attributed the blame on low investment in the sector by political leaders.

He said the system can not give what it does not have and for any emerging leader to make a difference, huge investment must be allocated to the Education sector to enable it produce the maximum expected result.

On the aspect of Creative and Entertainment industry ,an artist, Mr. Andy Bello. noted that the sector remains the most undermined despite its lucrative potentials  generate revenue for the Government and provide employment for Artists.

Bello also called on Dr Azemhe Azena that if he emerge as Governor of the State to ensure he invest in creative and entertainment Industry as that would boost the economy of Edo State.
