7th Coronation: Groups Offer Free Medical Assistance To Benin Citizens

Ahead of the seventh Coronation of the Oba of Benin of Kingdom, Oba Ewuare II, the Edo National Voice (ENV) in conjunction with the Benin Doctors Forum (BDF) have organized a two day free medical screening check up for Edo citizens to enable them know their health status.


Speaking on the essence of the free health medical check up, Comrade Iyamu Osaro Culture, the President of the Edo National Voice, described the free health screening as a way of touching  the lives of the ordinary people.



He said," As one of those who put on this programme and this event was organized by the Edo National Voice in conjunction with Benin Doctors Forum (BDF).

" The purpose of the free health check up screening programme is to touch  lives and to create a meaningful impact in the society. So far, we have been touching lives and been creating meaningful impact.

" The overall goal of the event is to add value to the 7th Coronation anniversary of the Oba of Benin Kingdom holding on the Friday 20th, October 2023. 

" Like I would always tell people, the  Oba does not serve the people. It is the people that would serve the Oba. So for Oba to give us this opportunity to serve him, we are always grateful to him and God.

" The Oba is our second God on earth, that is what many people don't know. We use our resources to serve him, and in return the Oba will now bless us, that is the beauty of our Royal throne," Comrade Iyamu stressed.

Buttressing, the Secretary of the Benin National Voice, Comrade Collins Amadin, said the essence of the programme is to promote the Benin Kingdom and to reach out to the downtrodden people on the aspect of giving them free medical check up.

" The essence of this event is to promote the Benin Kingdom and to reach out to the downtrodden, the old people and those citizens indeed who need some of these assistance in our own little way. We have decided to do this as our commitment to  inhabitants of Edo people.

" To let them know that the 7th  Coronation anniversary of our great Oba of Benin. In commemorating it, we decided to put things together to make our people know the status of their health. 

"Some of them cannot see well, some think it is normal and indeed it is not normal. By way of our partnership with some of our distinguished doctors to let them know the state of their health," Comrade Amadin stated.

One of the beneficies, Mrs. Esther Igui,  from Oredo local government thanked the groups and the Oba of Benin for making the free health screening available for her.

She said:" I have a high level of sugar and also  I have leg pain. I was tested by some medical personnel.  They also gave me drugs after I finished my medical checked up and to know my blood group. 

"I thank the Oba of Benin and the group that make this free medical check up possible for us to treat our body. The monarch do well in my body and God will bless the Oba of Benin for the free test screening."
