Niger Delta Students Extol Betsy Obaseki, Joins Edo Govt Against Killing Of Students, Youths

Niger Delta student Union Government (NDSUG), from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers state, has extolled the wife of the Edo state governor, Mrs. Betsy Godwin Obaseki for bringing together all the students in the Region.
The body also expressed their worried about the incessant killing of their students, as a result of the recent cult related issued. They made the statement in a peaceful rally to the Edo state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Benin city, Edo state.
Addressing the media, the National President Pressement Niger Delta student Union Government (NDSUG), Comrade Scott Uyiosa Ogunseri, called on vital authorities to put an end bloodletting killing of the students
He said," Niger Delta Student Union Government (NDSUG), wants to detiberatety congratulate the wife of the Edo State Governor, Betsy Obaseki for all her efforts In reviving up the standards of the people across the region.
"We are of the school of thought that says, “if your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader."
" At NDSUG, We also believe that followers who tell the truth, and leaders who listen to it, are an unbeatable combination.
" Therefore, we have learned over time that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but peaple will never forget how you made them feel.
"Given this, our match today Is a reflection of your support for the Niger Delta Students, particularly in Sports development knowing the role you have played in our steady growth.
We are assembled, to demonstrate your seemingly simple yet, relevant and immensely impactful practice in the third edition of the Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament, BOwFT.
" This, in turn, will dissuade intending irregular migrants from falling victim to the evil cartel who
embarked on transporting young girls through the Mediterranean Sea with the mindset of a better life abroad.
Your Excellency, we are very worried as our students are being killed in recent cult-related issues, particularly the recent upsurge that claimed multiple lives in the University of Edo State.
"We condemn in its entirety the evil act and join the state government in advocating against further killing of our youths.
"We are by this movement calling on the relevant authorities to find a way to put an end the bloodletting, and asking the youths/Students to avoid creating a societal crisis that could stagnant development," Comrade Ogunseri stressed
Responding to the students, the Edo Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Festus Alenkhe thanked the students for their peaceful rally and urged them to study their books diligently to become a better leaders in future.
Comrade Alenkhe also advised them not to involve themselves in any cult related activities, but to remain good students on campus, and ensure they come out from school with a good results.
He therefore promised the students that their messages would definitely be communicated to the appropriate authorities, and told them to go about their rally in a peaceful manner to avoid rancour .
