Edo 2024: Female LP Aspirant Promises To Improve On Infrastructures

Ahead of the  february 23 Labour Party  primary election in Edo state, one of the governorship aspirants,  Dr. Blessing Akele has promised to improve on infrastructural amenities if elected as the party's flagbearer.

Dr Akele pointed out that if she fails to pick the party's ticket, she would not hesitate to  work for the candidate the process produces; noting that the ambition is not about her personal gains, but for the good for the party and Edo people. 

Dr. Akele said if given the opportunity she will focus on health, education, agriculture, tackle insecurity and renewable energy that will enhance productivity in Edo state.

She emphasized that if she clinches the Labour party's ticket, she  will ensure she upgrades the living standard of the citizens of Edo state, pointing out that the people of Edo state should be able to benefit from the resource of the state.

The LP governorship aspirant stressed the need to invest in public sectors to make lives better for the ordinary citizens, an decried the hardship that the people of Edo are passing through at the APC government.

" It's unbelievable the rate of the hardship of the people is getting worse day by day. We are talking about hunger. The markets and streets are empty and increase in price of fuel per litre."

" We have different aspirants and I am among those that are aspiring for the office of governor in Edo state. About eight contestants were screened for the primaries. I was screened and cleared to partake in the primaries on Friday.

" The reason why I am run for the election is that everyday the situation is getting worse in Edo state. We need to manage the State for the benefit of the people.

" When you look at the section of our Constitution you will see that our present governments have not be able to give the dividends of democracy to the ordinary people.

" I decided to run the race to make the citizens have good governance. That means spending the state's wealth for the benefit of the people. During the campaign I told the people about my programmes.

" The programmes are full of list of priorities . If I become the governor of Edo state one of the first thing to do is electrification of Edo state, because without electricity we cannot talk about developments.

" So industrialization is needed because we need to create industries and factories to enable the citizens to work." She added.
