Edo Speaker, Agbebaku Tasks Journalists On Balance Reportage

The speaker Edo State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku has urged journalists in the state to always balance their reports before disseminating to the general public.
Hon. Agbabaku stated this when the Chairperson of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Edo state chapter, Adesuwa Ehimuan led some members of the Association on a courtesy visit to his office.
He welcomed NAWOJ delegation and commended them for acknowledging the role the house of assembly.
Hon. Agbebaku appealed to women journalists in the state to encourage young girls to help them actualize their dreams and aspirations in their various careers.
The speaker assured Edo NAWOJ of his unflinching support ahead of International Women's Day Celebration in collaboration with other professional women groups in Edo State on March 28th at the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy JOOPSA and all activities lined up for the year 2024.
On her part, Edo state Chairperson of NAWOJ, Adesuwa Ehimuan informed the speaker of the Association's activities in the state commending the House of Assembly for summoning National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to answer questions over difficulties in getting the National Identification Number (NIN).
The House has over thirty (30) people Oriented resolutions to its credit including tackling Federal Ministry Of Works Agency (FERMA) over the state of federal roads in the state .
The House has passed several bills including Budget 2024, Fisheries Bill, Autonomy for Legislature and Judiciary.
Adesuwa Ehimuan said all the house standing Committees have been very active and functional, especially the House Committee on Works and Public Utilities, chaired by member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency, Hon. Bright Aitenguoba Iyamu.
According to the Edo NAWOJ Chairperson, the performance of the house of assembly has been tremendously outstanding and commendable, including cooperation amongst the honourable members she added.
Members present at the visit were Deputy speaker Mrs Maria Edeko and member representing Egor constituency Natasha Osawaru.
High point of the event was the presentation of customized picture frame to the speaker and a picture section.
