EDO 2024: THE TRUTH ABOUT AZEMHE AZENA (1)

As a teenager growing up in the village amidst poverty, squalor and deprivation, the New Nigeria People's Party Governorship Candidate, Dr Azemhe Azena never could have thought it possible, even in his wildest dream, that he will attain the status that God has bestowed on him today.

It is this humble background, laced with struggles and victories over the vissisitudes of life at a very youthful age that propels him to do what he does for mankind today, especially the despondent in our society and also to aspire to higher positions of influence to become a more effective helping-hand to many who are passing through his conquered ordeals in the time past.

Therefore, his love for mankind is organic and devoid of politics and the toga of politicking that most people might gladly but erroneously put on him at all times. 

Dr Azemhe Azena has been in the public space for the right reason and unconditionally for over a decade now, helping the widows, the prisoners, the violent and restive youths, the criminally minded but energetic teens, the sick but poor patients in the hospitals, the indigent students, the spiritually oppressed, the hopeless deportees, etc

These days when the act of political Godfatherism has been uncannily but infamously elevated to a required denominator for projecting candidates for elections, Dr Azemhe Azena's emergence on the Edo state political scenery should be taken as an opportunity to discard the ugly past to embrace a change that will allow the freedom of providing true leadership to the people without unholy clandestine allegiance to vampires who do not mean well for the state.

He had said in several fora, that he's coming to provide the basic responsibility of the government to the people and erase the trust deficit between the government and the governed.

As a Clergyman under the authority of his boss, attending to over a hundred and thirty branches of the ministry and many more overseas, Dr Azemhe Azena equally runs an hospitality business, Schools and a Frontline foundation in charge of rendering humanitarian services to the society.

He wants to take advantage of the instrumentality of state power and influence to do more for the people in critical sectors of the economy in Edo state. His emphasis on leveraging on the comparative advantage provided by the three senatorial zones in the area of Agriculture, over one another in terms of Palm oil production, Cassava farming and Rice production between Edo South, Edo central and Edo North respectively is a panacea for increased growth in food production and employment within state and beyond.

His mutual love with the youth in Edo state is organic. His popular "Renounciation Program" where youths involved in crime and other social vices come to drop their guns and rehabilitate, has endeared him to the people and fetched him recognition even by the State Government.

His love for the state is pure and undiluted, having lived all his life, does all his businesses and did all his educational endeavors in the state up until now. He practically owns a home in the three senatorial zones of the state, a true homeboy without guile. 

His political ticket is a call to a dispassionate rethinking and a paradigm shift from politics of negative ethnic nativity, retrogressive influence of Godfatherism, politics of prebendalism to that of vision and progress for all. Edo state deserves the best.
