Gov Diri Preseason Tourney:  Bendel Insurance FC Pip Crusaders Feeders


Bendel Insurance Football club on Monday, August 12,2024 began the  2024 Governor Duoye Diri Preseason Football Tournament with a deserved 1-0 victory over Crusaders FC Feeders

Substitute Chinedu Chukeujiekwu scored the only goal of the opening match of the Bayelsa preseason football fiesta  in the 63rd minute of action at the Samson Siasia stadium, Yenagoa

The first half ended without any goal from both sides in the entertaining game, with the Crusaders making it difficult for the NPFL side.

Coach Monday Odigie, as expected paraded an evenly mixed team with old and new faces for the game as he continues with the rebuilding process and fine-tuning of his team ahead of the new football season. 

The Benin Arsenals have been paired with Crusaders Feeders, Rivers Utd and Kwara Utd in Group B of the Bayrlsa Preseasoon.

Speaking, the Head coach and Technical Director of Bendel Insurance FC Monday Odigie commended the organisers of the tournament, saying that the Bayelsa Preseason tournament gives clubs in the Nigeria Premier league an ampo opportunity to test their teams ahead of season commencement. " It is good for us and it will help the teams preparing for the NPFL.". He said noting that it is a part of modern days football requirements.

Bendel Insurance FC will be up against Rivers Utd in the MatchDay 2 scheduled for Wednesday at the same Samson Siasia Stadium. Kick off time is 4:30 PM
