‎The Executive Chairman,Edo State Sports Commission Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele has showered praise on Bendel Insurance Football Club on their superlative performance and for emerging champions of the Bayelsa Pre-Season Tournament trophy.
‎
‎The Sports Commission boss said that he was impressed with the performance of the new look Benin Arsenals at the Bayelsa Preseason Tournament beside winning the trophy. 
‎
‎"  With the results we posted at the Bayelsa Preseason Tournament, following our preparation so far,it means we are ready for the new season ". He enthused.
‎
‎Hon Enabulele was speaking when he received the victorious Bendel Insurance team in a brief ceremony at the Samuel Ogbermudia stadium. He expressed confidence in the ability of the new look team to compete favourably among the top teams and not as underdogs in the coming NPFL season.
‎
‎Insurance FC returned to Benin from Bayelsa state with the preseason trophy on Sunday afternoon.
‎
‎He described Insurance FC outing at the preseason tournament as a perfect run, having won all their four games, scoring 10 goals without conceding any goal.
‎
‎" Thank you for this beautiful gift.What a beautiful way to start the day and week. With this team we have been able to assemble and the exploit in Yenagoa, I am confident we are going into the 2025/26 NPFL not as underdogs anymore. Let's continue to build on this achievement " He noted.

‎" I can remember the kind of backlash and knocks we got from followers of our darling club, following the release of twenty five players we dropped. Like I said,we are going to roll up our sleeves and work in order to achieve our aim.
‎From the beginning when we resumed,I told Coach Greg Ikhenoba and members of management that we will not impose any players on the coach. I made it clear,let no one impose any player on you. Recruit players based on your genuine assessment and professionalism and I think the results have started coming."

‎"Last season,we finished in the 5th position on the league table but we even had the opportunity to get CAF Confédération ticket. This is the same team we met at the lowest level, rotating between 19th and 20th when I assumed office as chairman. So,that is why I gave the management and coaches a sound warning and direct message that any player coming to join us must be based on merit and no one should impose any player on the coach."

‎Bendel Insurance went unbeaten at the Bayelsa Preseason Tournament,scoring 10 goals without conceding any goal.
‎They began the glorious route with a 2-0 triumph over Bayelsa United last week Monday and brushed aside Kun Khalifat FC 4-0 in the next match. They  thrashed  Bayelsa United U-20 side 3-0 in the semifinals before going ahead to pip Warri Wolves 1-0 to lift the trophy on Saturday, August 16,2025.

‎Bendel Insurance FC will begin their 2025/26 NPFL campaign with an away clash with El Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri on Friday, August 22, 2025.
