Remembering The Needy At Uhogua, As Scarcity Of Food Looms

Remembering The Needy At Uhogua, As Scarcity Of Food Looms.

Eben Enasco Reporting.

In the heart of Uhogua, a Community in Ovia North East, Edo State, nestled in the lush countryside, where a group of individuals and families struggle to make ends meet, there is a biting needs for Food, Shelta, and Good Education for survivors housed by th Home For the Needy.

These ones are survivors of the deadly insurgency attacks in the North East of Nigeria who have faced devastated emotional crises for over a decade.

As the struggle continues to cause major obstacles to the survivors, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho the caregiver and founder of the Home For The Needy, in Uhogua, is concerned about the future of these ones who have lost greater part of their existence to the insurgency, if the food shortage continue to subsist.

He believes that food, Shelta and Good Education have become a priority to stage a come back to good life amidst the torrential spreads of hunger and insufficiency of food to sustain the displaced persons at Uhogua.

Despite his efforts and support from some concerned individuals cut across the globe, the caregivers barely scrape together enough to put food on the table.

Records of events have revealed that food scarcity at the camp is at alarming rate leaving sustainability drenched to zero-one-zero as the days count.

Corroborating these findings, Pastor Folorunsho said the children often go to school with empty stomachs, making it difficult for them to focus on their studies and need food support.

While thanking those who have showed support till date, Pastor Folorunsho and his team of caregivers, are appealing for the provision of more food support, Healthcare services, Shelta and above all good Education to build confidence around the survivors.

As the care givers have remained resolute and stick together, they have demonstrated that even in the face of adversity, a good life is within reach as the center has produced graduates with sterling performances cut across higher institutions in Nigeria and other part of the world.

Given this feat, the testimony is a value that should be upheld by the Government and the egalitarian society to herald a new partnership support to make these devastated survivors put behind them their horrible experiences.

It is obvious that it is not their fault to have remained homeless after the attacks that have left them bewildered for a sin they did not commit.

The story of these survivors should serve as a testament to the impact of collective efforts in creating positive change.

Through the organization's efforts, and individual support, the Needy at Uhogua will begin to transform, where Children will attend school regularly,  the families will have access to nutritious food, where homes are repaired or built.

Solomon Folorunsho an  evangelical pastor runs a sprawling camp which provides refuge for thousands of children who fled the Boko Haram jihadist insurgency in the North East and other parts of the country effortlessly with over 3,000 survivors housed in the camp.

Governments across all strata should see this as a challenge and make the survivors' spirit  lifted, where hope is renewed.
