The Association of Mass Communication Students (AMCOS), 2005 set, National Diploma (ND) of Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Edo state, gathered on December 27, 2025 to hold their end of year party with a lot of fun, merriment and excitement.

Before the main party commenced, the 2005 set went to Tender Heart Orphanage and Charity Home to donate some food stuffs to the less privileged children.

The occasion also marked the 20 years anniversary celebration of the Association.


Speaking during the event,  Senior Pastor Omega Fire Ministries, Southern Region two, Dr. Azemhe Azena, appealed to the old students not to give up on each other.

Dr. Azemhe Azena said ,"we need each other to survive in life, that we should not look down on each other."

"Whenever I come across any of us is that where we are going to is more greater than where we are coming from. We should not give up on each other. The person you know today to be nothing can be someone to help you tomorrow.

" No matter where God has placed you don't place yourself too high, because no matter how far you go, you need people around you. Money is not everything because human being is more than money.

" Most times, when you want to follow the society, you may miss the reality of life," the philanthropist added.

The NNPP Gubernatorial Candidate of the 2024 Edo state governorship elections, said he is glad to be in the midst of Amcos 2005 set. He said, he always associate with any old students that finished from Auchi Polytechnic even though he is inside his convoy jeep.


Dr. Azena who is a Benin-based televangelist, thanked everyone that came to grace the end of year party and promised to always associate with the Association. He said the body is getting bigger for the past 20 years.

Also, the President of the Association, Mr. James Edomwonyi, gave God thanks for the success of the 20 years anniversary celebration.

Edomwonyi said the event is to rekindle our years in school. He said next year celebration will be bigger than this year and thanked everyone that participated and contribute to the success of the end of year party.

He said," I want to give thanks to God for success of our 20 years anniversary. It is not easy to gather ourselves together after school. We have not buried anybody among us. It is God that is helping us.

" Two years ago, we came together as a group to campion the need of the Association. We have 104 persons in the group. We have not lost any member.

" We give God the grace for keeping us together. We went to an orphanage home to see the children. Tires were over our eyes. Next year we are going to party with the less privileged children."


The President also spoke about the challenges he encountered during the struggle that at the end he was able to overcome those problems.


" You know your classmates still see you as your classmates, not as the President of the Association, so you have to manage them. There are insults that you have to swollen during meetings, and you have to manage them," he explained.
 

In his comments, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Edokpolor Unity, said the event mark a memorable day for him and every amcosians.

 Edokpolor disclosed that, it has always been God for making the 20 years anniversary celebration possible and thanked every amcosians that participated in the occasion.

He said next end of the year party will be larger than this that a lot of activities will be featured.

More so, highpoint of the event was the cutting of the 20 years anniversary cake which also goes with a lot of photographs, while the floor was engaged with dance, dance, dance.
