Governance Is Rooted In Humility, Faith And Total Dependent On God Says-- Gov. Okpebholo

Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo said his practical governance embarked on by his administration is rooted in humility, faith and totally dependent on God and responsible for the many  successes recorded in the past one year.

Gov Okpebholo who spoke while delivering his speech at an interdenominational Church programme held at the Govt House chapel with the theme: "Power of God as of old" said strategy and policies are important but divine guardian is required for lasting impact.

The governor represented by the coordinator office of the first lady of Edo State Edesili Anani Okpebholo said the Okpebholo led administration has totally depended on God for directions and the signs of growth and development is experienced by Edo people, urging the congregation to uphold God's supremacy

"Governance must be rooted in faith, humility and totally dependent on God as human efforts alone is not sufficient. Strategy and policies are important but without a divine guardian they can't yield lasting impact".

The governor noted that the progress recorded in his administration since inception is a testament of God's manifestation of his powers in the rebuilding of Edo.

"We are confident that God will continue to guide our leaders to strengthen our Institutions and grant lasting peace and prosperity to Edo State and its people.

"My administration has successfully utilized the SHINE Agenda to develop various sectors of the Edo economy especially security, health, infrastructure, natural resources and agriculture and education.

"My administration has strengthened grassroots development as true development starts from the rural area and I call on all to support my administration to continue to make life better for Edo people".

The Special Adviser (SA) on religious matters to Edo State governor and chaplain of Government House Chapel, Apst Sule Faraday Azekhumen in his welcome address commended the administration of senator Okpebholo in the fight against cultism and insecurity in the State.

"We acknowledge the courage and determination your administration has shown standing firmly against cultism and insecurity, strengthening collaboration with security agencies, creating employment opportunities, supporting rural development, empowering agriculture and maintaining a respectful partnership with the church in Edo State".

 The Guest preacher Apostle Favour Mopa Awom emphasized the place of power in the fulfilment of God's purpose urged the congregation to thirst after the power of God which is the best of all gifts.

Reading from Psalm 62:11, Apst Awom said life assignment will be frustrated without power as power is needed and necessary for life because we are in a wicked world.
