Edo Govt Pledges Support For Developmental Initiative

The Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, has expressed strong support for initiatives aimed at driving development in the State, citing innovative projects such as Sai Tech as positive steps toward progress.
Prince Afegbua gave the assurance while playing host to the Executives of Sai Tech Developers, who were on a courtesy visit to his office at the Ministry’s premises in Benin City. He assured the delegation that its proposal would be presented to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, emphasizing the Governor’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the welfare and livelihoods of Edo residents.
The Commissioner underscored the untapped potentials of Benin City as a significant furniture production hub. He noted the presence of skilled artisans, whose craftsmanship meets international standards and recommended the establishment of a structured furniture industry encompassing production, packaging, and export to boost the local economy.
Prince Afegbua encouraged young people to embrace skills acquisition and entrepreneurship, stressing the importance of hard work in securing a prosperous future. He appreciated the Elder Ikedi’s decision to invest in Edo State, describing it as a strategic move considering the State’s abundant, yet underexplored opportunities.
Given his remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Sai Tech Developers, Elder (Dr.) Samuel Ikedi, explained that Sai Tech Developers seeks to collaborate with the Edo State Government to develop industrial, commercial, and residential layouts, requesting access to undeveloped land to facilitate such projects. He emphasized that Sai Tech differs from typical developers by focusing on comprehensive development, rather than merely acquiring and subdividing land for profit.
He stresseed that Edo State’s largely untapped potentials was a key factor in their choice to invest.
