Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele has applauded the organizers of the prestigious Sportsville Special Recognition Awards for nominating him in the Visionary Leadership Category.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele expressed deep appreciation to the organizers for considering him worthy of the recognition.

The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission said the nomination serves as a strong motivation to continue working tirelessly for the advancement of sports development in Edo State and Nigeria at large.

According to him, “I am deeply honoured and grateful to the organizers of the Sportsville Special Recognition Awards for this nomination in the Visionary Leadership Category. It is truly humbling to be considered among respected sports administrators who have contributed immensely to the growth of sports in our country.”

Enabulele noted that the recognition is not just a personal achievement but also a reflection of the collective efforts of the Edo State Government, sports administrators, coaches, athletes and other stakeholders working to reposition the state as a powerhouse in Nigerian sports.

“This nomination belongs to the entire Edo sports family. It reflects the unwavering commitment of our athletes, coaches and administrators, as well as the strong support of His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo, whose passion for sports development continues to inspire remarkable progress in the sector,” Enabulele said.

He further assured that the Edo State Sports Commission will remain focused on building sustainable sports structures, nurturing young talents and sustaining the winning culture that has recently brought pride to the state.

“We will continue to invest in grassroots sports development, athlete welfare and modern sports administration to ensure Edo State remains a leading force in Nigerian sports,” he added.

However, in an official letter informing the Executive Chairman of his nomination, the organizers stated that the award is being bestowed on him in recognition of his visionary leadership that propelled Edo State to first position at the just-concluded 2nd Niger Delta Games.

According to the letter, “The landmark victory, coming after 24 years, demonstrates your leadership and visionary skills in driving sports excellence in Edo State.”

Enabulele is among the nominees listed for the 6th edition of the Sportsville Special Recognition Awards, scheduled to hold on March 28 at the Lagos Country Club, Lagos.

An A-list of the country’s sports administrators was unveiled on Tuesday as nominees for this year’s Sportsville Special Recognition Awards during an elaborate ceremony in Lagos.

The Sportsville Special Recognition Awards is an annual event designed to celebrate individuals and corporate organizations that have been at the forefront of sports development and promotion in Nigeria.

The award was introduced in 2020 as part of activities marking the 20th anniversary of Sportsville as an independent sports television programme.
