NPFL26 MD28 : Insurance Defeat Ikorodu City 4-0 In Benin 

Bendel Insurance Football Club , Sunday produced a spectacular and dominant display against visiting Ikorodu City, thrashing the  Lagos boys 4-0 in the match day 28 of the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Young Striker Alex Oweifaleya showed character and strength as he bagged his first hat trick in the premier league football. Alex opened scoring for the Benin Arsenals in the 15th minute of play to provide the needed bost his side who returned from Nasarawa Utd without a point.

Insurance mercurial midfielder Udom Wisdom doubled the in the 24th minute before Alex made it 3-0 in the 27th.

The Benin Arsenals went into the halftime break fulfilled after their powerful response and revenge against the Lagosians who pipped them 1-0 in their first round encounter in Lagos.

On their return for the remaining half , the game looked balance as the visitors however came out stronger but the hosts proved ready and well prepared to avenge the first round 1-0 defeat to Ikorodu City as they frustrated all their promising moves.

In the 59th minute,Alex Oweifaleya netted his third fantastic goal and bagged his first hat-trick to seal a 4-0 victory for Insurance FC.

The captain of the team,Efe Enabulele in his remarks after the game said that the big margin victory against Ikorodu City is dedicated to the team's technical manager Kennedy Boboye as his birthday gift. Insurance recorded their biggest victory this season on their technical manager's birthday.

The Benin Arsenals now returned to the 6th position on the league table with 41 points and will be playing away from home against Rivers Utd in the match day 29 next week.
In a post match interview, coach Kennedy Boboye praised his players efforts. He expressed happiness that they were able to convert their chances brilliantly.

He admitted that they did not play to his satisfaction but gave him the kind of result he craved for.

" Ikorodu played very well, knocking and moving all over the field, but were unlucky to score " He said.
