... Describes Him Unprofessional For rendering Incompetent Function
Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin
The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) has called for the sack of Edo state commissioner for information and strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua for attacking opposition parties in the state consistently.
The coalition also described Prince
Afegbua as incompetent in projecting and defending the state government in an unprofessional manner due to his inability to recognise the function of the opposition parties in Edo State.
The body also lampooned on governor Monday Okpebholo regime for the persistence insecurity that have overwhelmed the state and demand for urgent solutions to curb the menace.
This follows a statement issued by Dr. Samson Isibor,
National Chairman, Hon. Nka a Waribe, National Secretary, of CRPP posited that Afegbua in speaking for the state government is unprofessional.
"Our attention has been drawn to a press conference held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in the office of the Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, at which we he reportedly CRPP us unprintable names.
"To us at CRPP, the so-called press conference is no more than a comedy by a jester commissioner, who have never treats his job as the image maker of a government with the seriousness it deserves, but a praise singer who goes about abusing anyone who has a divergent opinion of government's performance.
"Rather than joining head with other members of his Exco to tackle main issues that affecting Edo people, Afegbua has thrown decency and civility to the wind in a manner unbecoming of a civil Commissioner, always abusing and intimidating our leadership, always accusing us of expecting settlement from the state government.
"Let it be know to Afegbua that we are too decent to disappoint that masses and condescend to accepting settlement from a non performing government," the statement added.
CRPP therefore condemned Afegbua for speaking from both sides of his mouth.
"This is a man who in 2022 when he was jobless, attacked former Governor Godwin Obaseki without ceasing, just because he was not given an appointment, and no one condemned him then. But now that he is an appointee, he no longer see anything good in criticizing the government he serves.
"We would once again remind Afegbua that the more he goes about abusing the leadership of our Coalition or any other opposition just because we criticize Governor Monday Okpebholo, the more he portays the government negatively."
The Coalition equally challenged Afegbua to go round the state to sample the opinion of the masses on their assessment of Governor Okpebholo’s performance on security, employment and food production.
The statement further stressed,"We are sure that Afegbua will shed tears at the result he will get.
" CRPP calls for the sack of Prince Kassim Afegbua over his failure to positively market the government that appointed him as commissioner, rather than portraying it as a government that is intolerant of the opposition.
"We urge him to learn from his predecessor in office, Hon Paul Ohonbamu, an intelligent and sound activist who marketed his boss effectively, and very diplomatic and with a good human relation."
Recently, commissioner for information and strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua when addressing the media at the median Press conference castigated the opposition party (CRPP) for criticising the state government.
