Eko2026 Games: Enabulele Charges Sports Coaches, Technical Officials On Quick Preparation


Ahead of the maiden National Intermediate Games scheduled to hold in Lagos state,the Executive chairman,Edo State Sports Commission Hon Amadin Desmond Enabulele has charged coaches of all  Sports Associations preparing for the Eko2026 Games to step up preparation of athletes and to let discipline be their watchword.

The Edo State Sports Commission boss gave the charge today at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium during a technical meeting with coaches and secretaries of all the sports associations featuring in the games

Enabulele appealed to the coaches to work in unity and cooperate as a team  in order to achieve the ultimate goal of emerging champions 

He also urged the coaches and secretary of the various associations to put personal interest aside and pursue tthe interest of the state from the planning stage to the event proper.

" We are going into the National Intermediate Games and we should know that we are no going to Lagos as underdogs. All eyes on us because we are regional champions having won the second Niger Delta Games. So, I am happy that we have a good foundation for grassroots sports development in the country. The age bracket of 15-18 years for the games makes it not difficult for us because we have the young athletes within the bracket most of whom were part of the winning team of the Niger Delta Games." Enabulele said.

" I want to charge our coaches particularly to be up and doing. You must all work as a team. Cooperation is important as we step up preparation. Be positive and aim high. We can do it and replicate our feat in the Niger Delta Games in Lagos. At this stage,let's be objective in our assessment and review of our performance and let's know our weaknesses and strength as we step up preparation." He stressed.

The National Intermediate Games, tagged: " Eko2026" is scheduled to hold in Lagos from October 1 -15,2026. Athletes within the age bracket of 15-18 years are eligible to participate in the games.

Edo State Sports Commission is preparing athletes for about 33 sports at the games which includes Athletics, badminton, volleyball, football, boxing, gymnastics and others.
