RENL Reaffirms Commitment to Safety and Integrity at 2026 HSE/Ethics Day Celebration
Utagba Uno Site, August 13, 2026 — Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited (RENL) has reaffirmed its commitment to prioritizing safety, integrity, ethical conduct and inclusion across its operations as the company marked its 2026 Health, Safety, Environment and Ethics (HSE/Ethics) Day celebration at the Utagba Uno Site.


The event, held under the theme: “Safety First, Integrity Always,” brought together management, employees and other stakeholders to reflect on the importance of maintaining a workplace where safety and ethical behaviour remain shared responsibilities.


The Managing Director of RENL, Olivier Odoukou, was represented at the Utagba Uno Site by the Technical Manager, Paul Ihenacho, who delivered the Managing Director’s message on the importance of placing safety at the heart of every activity.


In his address, the Managing Director stressed that safety goes beyond compliance with workplace policies, describing it as a fundamental commitment to protecting lives. 

He noted that every employee deserves to return home safely after each day’s work, while every task, regardless of how routine it may appear, must be approached with safety as the first consideration.


He also highlighted RENL’s continued investment in employee training, personal protective equipment, risk assessment and safe work practices, emphasizing that no production target should be considered more important than the wellbeing of employees.
Odoukou further noted that the company’s responsibility for safety extends beyond employees to dependents, families and communities around its operational areas.

 He urged employees to remain conscious of the impact of their activities on surrounding communities and to practise safety both at work and at home.
Adding further value to the celebration were presentations and interactive sessions on gender equality, inclusion and respect in the workplace. 

The sessions highlighted the importance of providing equal opportunities, promoting mutual respect and creating a work environment where all employees, irrespective of gender, can contribute meaningfully without discrimination or harassment.


The event also provided an opportunity for employees to reflect on ethical decision-making, personal responsibility and the importance of speaking up when safety or integrity is compromised.


The 2026 HSE/Ethics Day celebration reinforced RENL’s commitment to building a culture where safety comes first, integrity remains non-negotiable, and respect and inclusion are embraced as shared values.
