CRPP Now PAGG: Dr. Isibor Accuses Okpebholo For Non Performance 

...Says Edo People Are Passing Through Hardship

The Coalition of Registered Political Parties (CRPP) has been restructured and renamed the Peoples’ Assembly for Good Governance (PAGG), with the new body pledging to intensify its advocacy for good governance and improved living conditions in Edo State.

The body  in a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Samson Isibor, and General Secretary, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nkama, said the decision to adopt the new name followed what it described as a petition against the CRPP name by an IPAC organisation in Edo State.

Also, PAGG, in its Executive Council resolved to change the name in response to the development and to provide a broader platform for engaging with the people, particularly residents concerned about governance and development in the state.

The group said it remained committed to exercising the freedom of association guaranteed under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.

PAGG also said it had received calls and enquiries from supporters and associates expressing concern over what it described as its previous “siddon look” attitude toward pressing issues affecting Edo State and Nigeria.

The body assured Edo residents that it would become more active in advocating policies and initiatives aimed at improving governance and accelerating development across the state.

It said its central objective was to see Edo State assume a stronger position among Nigeria’s developed states, while advocating measures to address infrastructure deficits, economic challenges and the rising cost of living.

The group also expressed concern over the pace of construction of overhead bridges in Edo State, alleging that some projects promised for completion by April 2026 remained unfinished.

It therefore raised concerns about the condition of the Benin-Lagos Expressway, particularly the S&T axis around Ugbowo, which it said had created difficulties for motorists.

"We reject the underdevelopment we found ourselves in this state. We shall continue to advocate an initiative for good governance. Never again will Edo state fall into the hands of non-performance government of Edo state.

" Edo people are lamenting of non-performance of Okpebholo government especially the unending project of overhead bridges construction which he promised to have completed since April 2026. This has brought suffering and untold hardship to motorist," he lamented.


PAGG also expressed concern over economic activities in the state, arguing that the challenges facing businesses and residents had contributed to increasing hardship and the rising cost of living.

The organisation pledged to pursue its advocacy for what it described as responsive and accountable governance, while calling for greater attention to the welfare and development needs of Edo residents.

More so, PAGG condoled with the family of Chief Dan Osi Orbih, whom it described as an elder statesman and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The group described Orbih as a prominent democrat who contributed significantly to democratic principles and accountability, and called on the Edo State Government to immortalise his memory by naming a prominent public edifice or road after him.

PAGG prayed for the repose of the late politician’s soul and extended its condolences to his family, political associates and the people of Edo State.
