...Benin Arsenals Shift Focus to Midweek Clash Against Ikorodu City

Bendel Insurance Football Club suffered a 2-1 defeat to newly promoted Ranchers Bees FC on Saturday in Matchday 4 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The result came against expectations for the Benin Arsenals, who had made an impressive start to the new season. Insurance went into the encounter with confidence following their 4-2 home victory over Kunkalifat FC on Sunday.

From the opening whistle at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano, the Benin Arsenals put up a strong challenge and resisted the hosts effectively, with both sides going into the break goalless.

Ranchers Bees eventually broke the deadlock five minutes after the restart, with Jude Okorie putting the hosts ahead in the 50th minute.

Bendel Insurance remained composed despite falling behind and were rewarded for their persistence when hardworking right-back Lekan Gabriel drew them level in the 65th minute.

However, Ranchers Bees continued to push for a second goal and regained the lead in the 76th minute through Zilkifilu Mohammed, whose strike ultimately secured all three points for the newly promoted side.

Insurance's afternoon took another turn for the worse in the 80th minute when goalscorer Lekan Gabriel was sent off following a harsh infringement, leaving the Benin Arsenals to finish the game with 10 men.
The defeat leaves Bendel Insurance on six points from their opening four matches of the season.
The Benin Arsenals will now turn their attention to Matchday 5, when they host Ikorodu City in Benin on Wednesday. The fixture will be their first midweek match of the new season.#
