NSCDC Apprehends 24 Year Suspect Vandalizing Telecommunication Mast In Anambra By Editor  The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, has arrested a 24-year-old suspect for allegedly vandalising and stealing equipment from a telecommunication mast belonging to one of the service provider companies. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Head of Media and Tactical Operations, NSCDC, Anambra State Command, Edwin Okadigbo, on Friday. Okadigbo said the suspect, identified as Nweke Wisdom from Izzi South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was arrested on Thursday at Esther Obiakor Estate, Agu-Awka, and taken to the NSCDC State Headquarters in Awka. He said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly specialised in vandalising telecommunication masts and stealing valuable equipment from them. NFF Challenges CAF Over Edo Queens' Controversial WAFU-B Rule The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appealed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decision to annul Edo Queens’ penalty-shootout victory over Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies, urging the continental body to reconsider the remedy imposed after an officiating error in the WAFU-B final. The federation filed its appeal on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 through it Deputy General Secretary, Emmanuel Edem Ikpeme, Ph.D, challenging CAF’s decision to annul Edo Queens’ 4-1 penalty-shootout victory over Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies and order the final to resume from extra time. The September 5 final in Ouagadougou ended 2-2 after regulation time before the referee directed the teams to penalties.  Edo Queens won the shoot-out and were declared champions, earning the WAFU-B qualification ticket for the CAF Women’s Champions League.    Orogho Indigenes Accuse Enogie For Alleged Misappropriation Of N38.5 Million  Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin  Some Indigenes and Stakeholders of Orogho Dukedom has raised an alarm over the alleged misappropriation of funds by the Enogie, Prince Patrick Osayande Akenzua meant for seven communities in the Dukedom, namely Orogho, Uwuo, Obagie Nunuamen, Iwevbo, Ugbigun, Obanakhoro and Ekhigbe. The concerned indigenes and other Stakeholders of the Dukedom led by Osahon Imaru made this known to journalists at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Benin City. The group stated that since the ascension of the present Enogie, several concerns were raised by the indigenes and Stakeholders across the seven communities concerning the administration of the Dukedom.
