Edo 2034: Obaseki Locks The Office Of Shaibu’s In Govt House Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin   The political battle between Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his Deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu, on Monday 18, September 2023, took another twist as the deputy governor was prevented from entry the State Government House apparently on the order of Obaseki. It was garhered that the gate to the former office of the deputy governor located in the Government House and the main entrance leading to the storey building was locked with chains and heavy padlocks. Tension In Auchi As Hoodlums Kill  One Person In Ekhei Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin There was tension and worry as a young man has been shot dead by hoodlums, in Chairman Shaibu Street, off Ekhei Girls Road, Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State. The incidence is said to have happened at about 11pm according to a source who reported that 2 shots were heard at the time. It is unclear that who the gunmen are and what is their motive, but the Police, Vigilante who were called to the scene promised to get to the root of the matter with a view to getting justice for the dead. Trafficking: NDLEA Intercepts 5 Teenage Pregnant Girls  Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says its operatives on Wednesday intercepted five pregnant teenage girls suspected to be victims of child trafficking used as baby factory. This was stated in a statement issued on Sunday by the NDLEA Director of Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi. According to him, they were picked up while being relocated from their hideout in the Naze area of Owerri to Ikenegbu. The NDLEA spokesperson explained that the victims in their statements claimed they didn’t know the men who impregnated them. Five Die In Lagos-Ibadan  Accident Iduozee Paul, Benin Wonder shall not end as five people were confirmed dead on Sunday while 12 others sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident near the Foursquare Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Mrs Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the development in an interview with newsmen in Abeokuta. Okpe said that the accident involved a DAF truck marked, KMC 810 ZB, a Toyota bus marked, TMA-244b XA and a Mitsubishi pickup van with no registration number. The FRSC spokeswoman said that the accident occured at about 6:15 a.m. and was caused by excessive speeding, tyre blowout and loss of control on the part of the driver of the truck. She staed that due to the tyre blowout and loss of control, the truck fell and blocked the road, noting that both the bus and the pickup van rammed into the fallen truck.
