DSS Invades Lagos Assembly, Seals Speaker Office  By Editor  Men of the Department of State Security, DSS, and Nigeria Police, in the early hours on Monday, stormed the premises of the Lagos State House of Assembly, sealing up the offices of the Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, her deputy and clerk of the house. As of 10 am, armed security personnel have taken over the premises at Alausa, Ikeja, and environs frisking every passersby. Meranda, however, arrived with her convoy at about 11.15am. It would be recalled that the embattled, former Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, has sued the state lawmakers challenging his removal as the Speaker of the Assembly. Obasa, it was gathered, has filed a motion at the Ikeja Division of the State High Court, where he is also seeking an accelerated hearing of his suit. NPFL25: Bendel Insurance FC Beat Niger Tornadoes 3-0 ...Now Maintain 10th Position  Bendel Insurance Football  Club of Benin,Wednesday defeated Niger Tornadoes 3-0 in the Matchday 24 fixture of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City. Julius Emiloju , again recorded his name on NPFL score sheet as he opened scoring for Bendel Insurance in the 5th minute of the game. An Islamic cleric in Ilorin, Abdulrahman Mohad Ballo, has been arrested for allegedly killing a final-year student of Kwara State College of Education, Lawal Hafsoh Yetunde, for ritual purposes. The suspect reportedly lured Yetunde after connecting with her on Facebook and obtaining her phone number. The incident reportedly occurred on Monday, February 10, 2025.It was gathered that Hafsoh was attending a naming ceremony when she received a phone call from a friend.
