Seplat Energy Commissions Three New STEAM Labs in Benin City Iduozee Efe Paul, Benin  As part of its continuous investment in the education sector, the NEPL/Seplat Energy Joint Venture has commissioned three new state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) laboratories in Benin City, Edo State. The three laboratories commissioned and handed over to the Edo State Ministry of Education on Thursday, June 26, 2025, are located at Niger College, Army Day Secondary School, and Oba Akenzua Secondary School.  These are in addition to the three existing STEAM Labs earlier commissioned at Ihogbe College, New Era College and Edo Boys High School, all in Benin City, to deepen the JV’s investment in education across its host communities. High Court Declares Nnamdi Kanu’s Transfer To Nigeria Illegal ...Awards Damages Against Kenyan  By Editor  A High Court of Kenya, sitting in Nairobi has declared the abduction and detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria in June 2021 unlawful and illegal. The court also awarded compensatory damages of 10 million Kenyan shillings against the Kenyan Government for gross violations of Mazi Kanu’s fundamental human rights. The presiding judge Justice E.C. Kano High Court Sentences Six Child Traffickers To 120 Years Imprisonment  By Editor  Wonder shall never cease, as six members of a notorious child abduction syndicate has been sentenced by a Kano State High Court to a combined 120 years in prison for their roles in abducting and trafficking children under the age of 10. The syndicate was arrested in 2019, and the final judgment has brought to a close a six-year-long trial that shocked the public and drew attention to child trafficking in Nigeria.  The children were abducted from Kano in 2014 and sold in Onitsha, Anambra State. The convicts-Mercy Paul, Ebere Ogbono, Emmanuel Igwe, Loise Duru, Monica Oracha, and Chinelo Ifedigwe-were found guilty of concealment, abetment, kidnapping, and trafficking of minors.  The syndicate leader, Mr. Paul Onwe, was previously sentenced to 104 years in July 2021 after pleading guilty to 38 counts.
