Federal Psychiatric Organises Training To Induct Promoted Directorate Cadre
In a bid to improve productivity in the service, the Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Uselu, Benin City has organised a training on capacity building of the Directorate cadre.
Alertnews reported that lectures on different selected topics were delivered.
It is an indisputable fact that in an attempt for a serious minded organisation to excel and improve on efficiency, training and re- training is required and should be encouraged.
It is against this backdrop that the Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital decided to organise a training to induct newly promoted staff into the Directorate cadre as a fresher course.
Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Imafidon Osama Agbonile said the essence of the training was to ensure the freshers are on the same page and in tune with the advancement and destination the Hospital is currently aiming at.
Agbonile's said the technological speed the federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital will find itself soon would not be adequately sustained if the staff were not on the same pedestal, hence the need for such training.
In her remark, the Deputy Directorate of Administration and Head of Human Resources, Mrs Clara Isede while appreciating the Medical Director for approving the programme said staff development is key and a policy that enhances skills and knowledge attitude which is a panacea for effective output.
Doctor Daudu Grace, gave the first lecture on code of conduct in government business, and disciplinary measures while Mrs Alasa patricia dwelt on Leave matters, mode of exit in civil service.
Mrs Isede also delivered a lecture on Minute writing in civil service and changes in the public rules.
Some participants expressed satisfaction with the lectures.
The Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital Uselu also organised a free medical outreach to indigent patients in collaboration with Medical Women Association of Nigeria, MWAN Edo State.

Consultant Psychiatrist and President of MWAN Edo state said the essence of the free medical check at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Idunmwowina community off Benin-Auchi Road, Benin City was to ensure patients have access to free regular medical check up and free screening to enable them know their health status.
The free medical outreach afforded over one hundred and fifty patients in the host community to benefit from the free treatment.
