Sarki Ismael scored the only goal of the match and sealed victory for Insurance in the 83rd minute of play at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin. NSCDC Saves 10 Suspected Victims Of Human Trafficking In Abuja The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has intercepted in Abuja 10 suspected victims of human trafficking, purportedly being sponsored for illegal migration abroad. The victims were accosted at Zuba motor park, Abuja, by officers of the FCT command of the NSCDC, following a tip off on their return from Minna, Niger State, where they had gone to process their International passport as directed by their sponsor. The victims whose age bracket was between 24 and 34 years, consisted of a male and nine females, and all claimed to be indigenes of Ondo State. It was gathered that each of them paid N80,000 to facilitate the procurement of the International passport. Edo High Court Sentences 3 Kidnappers To Death Iduozee Efe Paul  It came as a surprise to many as three persons were sentenced to death by hanging for armed robbery, kidnapping and murder by Justice Irele-Ifijeh of Benin High Court, Edo State. The convicts, Solomon Abuede, James Monday and Kelvin Edward murdered one Ephraim Akhere who they kidnapped and robbed on June 13, 2014 at Ihumudumun-Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.. The trial judge also sentenced one Oviasogie Sunday, alias Alhaji of Kano to life imprisonment for receiving a Nissan Infinity Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) marked EFR 218 FB, property of the late Akhere which was stolen after the murder. Edo House lmpeaches Deputy Gov Shaibu The Edo State House of Assembly today impeached the embattled deputy governor of the state, Comrade Philip Shaibu. The Assembly which began sitting at 9.41 am voted for the impeachment of the deputy governor by a vote of 18 against one who voted against, among the 20 members present with the speaker expected to give the deciding vote in case of a tie, reports Nigerian Tribune. Shaibu, according to Justice Stephen Omonua (Rtd)-led a seven-man panel set up by the Chief Judge (CJ) of the state, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, to investigate the allegation of gross misconduct levelled against the deputy governor, submitted that the deputy governor was guilty of disclosure of official secret. The panel, however, exonerated the impeached deputy governor on the allegation of perjury as it was not “made up”, that is proven.

Edo Health Comm.  Expresses Govt Readiness To Support PWDs Iduozee Efe Paul Edo state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samuel Ali  has lamented that with the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government last year, that over 675,000 Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) in Edo state have been critically affected. Dr. Samuel Ali, represented by the permanent Secretary, Edo state ministry of health, Dr. Stanley made the statements in an event organized by PWDs on NDI PAIRS IV PROJECT, with Resilientnet-Empowering Inclusivity and Adaptability in Emergency for project closeout meeting agenda, Benin city, Edo state.
