The New Nigeria People's Party, NNPP, Governorship candidate for September 21st election in Edo State, Dr Azemhe Azena, has called for the unity of the Edo people regardless of their political affiliation while praying for a peaceful transition in government by November

In a press statement released by his media team on Tuesday in Benin city, the Edo State capital and signed by the ebullient politician himself, the NNPP flag bearer stated that "Edo State at 33 has come of age and we are grateful for the unity we are enjoying despite our peculiar differences in tongues, creed and political affiliations over time".

Dr Azemhe Azena added that all hands must be on deck to ensure that the continued unity and peace enjoyed in the State is sustained by the deliberate efforts of the government and the people of the state to bring about development in the State.

The gubernatorial candidate uses the occasion of the 33 years anniversary celebration in the state to call for a peaceful transition in government as the present government leaves office by November this year.

He however prayed for those who have contributed in one way or the other to the development of the state this past decades while adding that Edo state is still very far from realizing her dreams and that of its founding fathers.
