The National headquarters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has strongly condemned an alleged plan by some officers of affiliate unions to remove the Chairman of the Edo State council  of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Odion Olaye.

In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the NLC, Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja Esq., the union described the actions of the officers as a "clear act of indiscipline and brigandage."

Comrade Ugboaja urged all affiliate unions under the NLC to ensure their members steer clear of such actions, which he labeled as an affront against the congress. He added that investigations are ongoing to identify those behind the alleged misconduct.

The NLC leadership reaffirmed its commitment to upholding discipline and unity within the union while calling for restraint and adherence to due process.
