As the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)2024/25 season ame to an end on Sunday,May 25,2025,Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin  finished among the top five teams in the elite division.

Though succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at the 'Cathedral, Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in Enugu in the last fixture'against already relegated Lobi Stars but the loss has no effect on the Benin Arsenals who fought from the relegation zone in the first round to become contenders in the Continental battle.

In the Match  day 38 and last  of the season, Uche Collins raised the hope of Insurance finishing on a winning note with an early lead goal (Penalty) scored in the 5th minute of action,only for Lobi Stars to come from behind to score twice (Kumaga 28, ,Kunduahima 53') for a 2-1 result in favour of the hosts.

Bendel Insurance finished fift on the table after winning 15 games,drew 11 and 12 losses to record 56 points ,four points behind third placed. Abia Warriors who will be playing in the CAF Confederation and three points close to fourth place finishers Ikorodu City.

On return from the NNL in the 2022/2023 seasons, Insurance FC shocked the big guns and finished in the fifth position on the table after the Super six tournament in Lagos but went ahead to beat Rangers  1-9 in the FA Cup final in Asaba to secure CAF Confederation ticket with Coach Monday Odigie as the Head Coach and Technical Director of the team.

The Benin Arsenals finished in the 10th position in the 2023/24 season.

In the season that just ended, the Benin based team started poorly ending their first game of the season in a goalless draw at home with Rivers United on September 7,2024. Their poor form and struggle gave way to a remarkable turnaround towards the end of the first round, rising from 19 position to 5th on the last day of the season .

Meanwhile, the Head Coach of Bendel Insurance FC Greg Ikhenoba has expressed his appreciation for the confidence management, supporters and fans of the club had in him, entrusting him with the leadership of the technical crew after the resignation of his former boss Coach Monday Odigie in the first round of the season.
He said that he will ever remain grateful for the huge support he enjoyed during the trying period. He also acknowledged the players role in the struggle. 
" I am grateful for all the support I got from the management,players and officials of our dear club. The supporters and all the stakeholders. I want to specially appreciate our chairman Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele for his support and believing in our ability to steer away from the red zone ." He. Said.
