The Executive chairman, Edo state Sports Commission Hon Amadin Desmond Enabulele has congratulated all Edo athletes on international duties for Nigeria, describing them as worthy ambassadors.

Flora Ugwunwa(female) and Christopher Michael won Gold respectively in F54 female Shot Put and T11 100m men for Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Grand Prix in Tunisia.
Flora won her second Gold in discus among others in the Team Nigeria Para-Athletes who won 19 medals to finish second at the just concluded WPA Grand Prix for Athletics in Tunis, Tunisia.
The team picked 10 golds, 6 silvers and 3 bronze medals to place second and qualified for Olympics and commonwealth games
Hon Enabulele while applauding team Nigeria recalled the superlative performances of team Edo kickboxing and para athletics athletes at the recently concluded National Sports Festival,Ogun Games, the remarkable feat that earned Edo athletes the national teams call-ups.
He reaffirmed his commission's commitment to grassroots sports development in Edo state and continuous support for Para Athletes and others who have done the state and country proud.
Hon Enabulele also commended the National Sports Commission for the sponsorship of the para athletes to the World Para Athletics (WPA) Grand Prix and the Africa Union Kickboxing championship in Cameroon.
"The remarkable performance of the country’s Para-athletes in Tunisia, where Nigeria finished second overall out of 42 countries that featured at the competition is highly commendable ", Enabulele remarked.
"I'm proud of our athletes. The kickboxing athletes delivered overwhelmingly at the Ogun Games with 20 Gold medals and Flora and others in the Para Athletics team also were outstanding. We will continue to encourage them. This is what we want to see.We want to see Edo athletes in large number representing the country at international events ". He said
