Insists Paid N50 Million To Secure Son Freedom

Following the insinuation to the earlier report spreading the rounds that, the Auchi hunters and local vigilante rescued Dr. Abu Ibrahim Momoh Tahir, a medical doctor who was kidnapped in Auchi, a new fact has emerged.

The twist in the whole story is, the father of the abducted medical doctor, Dr Ibrahim Tahir has revealed that a staggering ransom of N50 million was paid to secure his freedom.

It would be recalled that the freed doctor was kidnapped alongside his late brother 13 days ago.

With his brother, Abu Tahir, later died in the hands of the kidnappers.

It was learnt that the kidnappers had earlier demanded a ransom of N200 million, which was later reduced to N100 million, but tragically, Abu Tahir was killed while the saga lasted.

The father revealed that the N50 million was paid in two instalments
of 20 and N30 million respectively before he was freed.

It was discovered that the mother of the doctor had earlier, in a viral video seen calling on kind-hearted Nigerians to come to her son’s rescue by helping her to raise the money demanded for his release.

“Whoever has, nothing is too small, they should please have mercy on me, they should donate for me to enable me free my sọn from the hands of the kidnappers. They’ve been requesting now for N100 million and I cannot provide the N100 million, till date. He is still in their den. He was adopted in Friday, [January] 2nd.

“Delay could be dangerous again, I don’t want this one to be killed. International community should please assist me to bail my son out. He is a medical doctor serving the nation. He was coming from his office when he was abducted. I never knew this could happen to him, please have mercy on me,” she appealed.

It was also learnt that Dr Tahir was shot at the process of his release and that he was in an undisclosed hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.
